Kaynemaile collaborated with architecture firm ThomasAdsett to realise the facade system concept as part of the $50 million upgrade to Aspley Hypermarket shopping centre in Queensland. Stretched over a geometric steel frame, the facade highlights the unique properties of Kaynemaile-Armour, providing a solid yet translucent fabric-like screen.
The shadow play on the silver-coloured screen changes dramatically from day to night, creating a dynamic architectural feature. Each screen was fabricated and installed as one single piece, the largest being 60 metres long by six metres high. Kaynemaile's attachment systems made this installation fast and simple.
Our mesh gives approximately 80% airflow through the cross sectional open area. This means air compliant movement can be maintained in interior spaces and exterior screens.
Works beautifully with architectural lighting
Stronger and lighter than glass. It weighs 3kg per m2 making it a perfect choice where a low static load on buildings is required. Plus our light weight mesh makes handling on site easy.
Our large screens go up fast without cranes. Our fixing systems are simple and don't require special training. Should you need it, we offer a supervisory service to help you on site anywhere in the world.
