Coastal Solar & Privacy Dreams for this Gold Coast Abode

This Moroccan inspired beach-front home in New South Wales was designed by Create Architecture for summer breezes and warm winter sunshine. This home has it all – from a golf putting green and built in bar, to a swimming pool and Kaynemaile mesh screening!

The hot Australian climate meant solar reduction and privacy were key thought points in the design process. Kaynemaile was perfect for the job. “Kaynemaile Bronze mesh was chosen as a contemporary design element to reduce the solar heat gain from the harsh afternoon sun into the western façade of the beachfront home” says Nic Raath from Create Architecture.

Manufactured from engineering grade polycarbonate, Kaynemaile's unique properties reduce solar heat gain into the building envelope by up to 70% without losing visual transparency. The 3D nature of Kaynemaile mesh means an open structure of around 80% can be achieved, giving you high airflow around your home. We can make our screens to any height or width without joins—we are the only manufacturer in the world that can do this.

Kaynemaile is also durable in coastal conditions. Metal based materials corrode and oxidise in the sea air, but as Kaynemaile is made from polycarbonate, it does not—perfect for this coastal home. We use colour-fast pigments that will not stain your building when it rains like traditional metal mesh materials can.
